Creative Reality

A Real World thats Not

One branch of design that Kris is especially intrigued by is 3-Dimensional Imagery. Below are a set of images Kris built using 3dsMax.

How 3D Works

In 3 dimenstional software an Artist builds a model with mathmatical tools which pull, shift, and manipulating points. The points are all stored as locations in x-y-z graphical space. Once the artist has built an objects he or she than has a myriad of options for applying surfaces. The surfaces or materials as they are often called have many choices which include reflectivity, texture, color, lumiescence, transulency, etc... The next phase is lighting, where an artist places lights in the 3D space and again there are many availible settings. Finally the Artist positions cameras to either take pictures, or build a movie. The results can be hyper-realistic and limited only by the artists creativity.
